"This Victorian - style mansion, with sprawling lawns, brass fittings and antique furnishings, is as stately as they come, and views of the Woodman's lily-fringed ornamental lake would have had Monet reaching for his palette.

Come inside for fireside aperitifs in the drawing room, then swan to the intimate dining room and sink into the plushly upholstered chair. Here you might dine on the barbecued King Island fillet steak with silky smooth mash and charred asparagus spears, soused with a syrupy peppercorn jus. Some dishes, like the simple wild mushroom spaghetti with rocket and fresh herbs, can be on the petite side. But Woodman's new chef has plans to fine tune the menu.

On Sunday, high tea is served, featuring finger sandwiches and asparagus rolls."
